Lemon Grass Seeds - (Non-Hybrid/Non-GMO)

Lemon Grass Seeds - (Non-Hybrid/Non-GMO)

At Home Farm Herbery we are in zone 6 so we have to plant our Lemon Grass each year, but we save the seeds from our organic Lemon Grass and we have some to share with you.

This fast-growing 2- to 3-ft. fragrant herb has the scent and flavor of lemons. Best when used fresh. Cut and crush the top leafy portion for tea or select the bottom part of the stalk for food flavoring. Repels mosquitoes and is deer resistant. Perennial in Zones 9-10, grow as an annual elsewhere.

Lemongrass is a fragrant perennial plant that thrives in warm climates and offers a lemony flavoring to dishes. In some gardens lemongrass has been known to grow up to 5 feet tall, either planted in pots and kept indoors in cooler climates or grown outdoors in subtropical or tropical regions. Lemongrass is easy to grow from seed, requiring no special pretreatment in order to germinate. Plant the seeds in late January to March.

Purple Cornflower

Purple Cornflower (Echinacea purpurea) is one of HOME FARM HERBERY all-time favorite flowers. Originally an American prairie heirloom, it is one of the very best for attracting butterflies. This showy and easy to grow plant brings welcome color to the late summer garden. Grows well in full sun or light shade and blooms heavily from July to September.Grows well in clay soils. Plants reach 3-4' tall. Perennial. Hardy to zone 4. 50 seeds will give you plenty of babies in subsequent seasons.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES: Echinacea in all its forms has been studied for its purported immune system stimulant properties. Definitive studies come out almost every year on one side or the other of the argument, but my personal experience is that this is an effective and benign natural medicine. As long as you don't decimate the plant, it will actually thrive with such harvesting and actually LIKES to have its flowers cut for your pretty vase! It encourages more blooms. Wash and thoroughly screen dry the flowers and roots before storing for tea.
These are a pain (literally) to get out of the prickly seed heads, which is why I have raised my price a little bit.
Approx. 50 seeds $5.99all orders are shipped free and all orders come with a free herb or herb blend of our choice.
