Plowshares Community Farm

Plowshares Community Farm is a small organic farm in Longmont CO which grows top quality vegetables and Berkshire pigs for the local community. In 2015, we began offering a CSA. From June until Thanksgiving we sell pastured meats and organic veggies and fruits from the Plowshares Farmstand located just off the Diagonal Highway. In addition, Plowshares products can be found at the Boulder Farmers Market on Saturdays April-November. We believe that farming should be done with care and respect for land, animals and humans. Moreover, we realize that we need to farm this way to ensure we can continue to grow food for decades to come. We grow vegetables organically and continually strive to build healthier soils, grow more efficiently, and take environmental sustainability into account in all our decisions. We actively work to improve our soils and build diverse ecosystems on the land we care far. Our pigs live outside with access to warm, straw filled shelters. They eat organic grains and can root, wallow, and run around like pigs should. For us, farming is also about a love of food and our local community. We farm because we believe that sharing good food with good people contributes greatly to all of our health and happiness. We eat what we grow, and we love what we eat!
