Nestled in the flyway between the Willamette River and Finley Wildlife refuge, Fairfield farm is owned and operated by Alice Fairfield. Thinking globally and acting locally, the intent is to grow nutritious food for the local market while leaving the land more beautiful and resilient with each passing year. Fairfield farm offers one of the few u-pick certifed organic strawberries in the state. Also grown are blueberries, gooseberries, artichokes, cucumbers, peppers, summer and winder squash (including heritage breeds), onions, garlic, flowers and hay. Behind the scenes, other projects push the farm 'beyond organic.' Native plantings encourage wildlife, plans to develop water storage as a form of alternative energy reduce environmental impacts, and farm-stay imparts the joy and peace of living in harmony with the land.
