Summary Steps to Buy a Beef:

1.You commit to buy a whole, half or quarter beef - email Shane at chief2babies@hotmail.com. You can reserve a 2012 beef for $75 per quarter, $100 per half, or $150 per whole. You are welcome come and see the steers in the pasture and pick one out if you desire. Just let us know. 2.You fill out a cut sheet to tell the butcher how you want it cut (can be done by email). 3.When the beef is killed I let you know the hanging weight and the final price. The price is determined at time of slaughter. In 2012 the price will be $3.35 per pound hanging weight. The hanging weight is determined when the beef is hung in the cooler after slaughter. The half beef should weigh approximately 270-330 pounds. Your cost will be the quoted price times the actual hanging weight of your half. The price includes everything (beef, killing, cutting and wrapping). 4. About 10 days or 2 weeks later you pick it up and pay the butcher for cutting and send a check for the rest to me. We are using Premium Meat Co. in Brigham City. We visited their shop and others this year and determined they are the best. They have a great reputation. The beef should be ready to be picked up ~October 1st.
