Indiana Youth Development is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization. We have implemented the Community Food Initiative to improve access to high quality, affordable foods to low income households, expand economic opportunities for community residents, and provide training, education, and assistance to socially disadvantaged farmers.
We offer farmer training courses and farm tours. We provide local grown and organic produce and vegetables, offering full and half shares. Pick ups are made at our garden sites Wednesdays from 2pm-5pm. Shares begin at $15/week.
Visit our website or call for more information on our CSA program, to register for the farmers training program, or to schedule a tour.
The fresh food and produce options that are available in underserved and rural areas are often times scarce. This initiative gives the residents of these communities the opportunity to have healthier food options. It also allows residents to have a harvest as a community. Through the shares purchased we are able to grow. What does not go out in shares is donated to the area soup kitchens and church baskets.
