We are on a small acreage in rural Valley Springs, SD. The road out front is the Iowa/SD border, so we are close and convenient to people on both sides of the border. This is a list of what is going into the garden now. Beans--Both Green and Yellow Beets-- Cylinder and Round Broccoli Cabbage-- Red and White Carrots Cauliflower Celery Cucumbers-- Slicers and Picklers Eggplant Gourds-- Mini Gourds, Large Gourds, BirdHouse Gourds Herbs and Seasoning Vegetables-- Basil, Catnip, Cilantro, Dill, Garlic, Kale, Oregano, Parsley, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage, Spearmint, Sweet Majoram and Thyme. Indian Corn-- Large, regular size ears and Mini ears, in many colors and a relatively new variety that is all earth tones. Kohlrabi Lettuce (leaf) Muskmelon Onions Peas Peppers-- Sweet/Bell varieties including Banana, Chocolate Bell, "Fooled You" Jalapenos (Jalapeno Flavor, but not Heat), Green Bell, Orange Bell, Red Bell, Purple Bell and Yellow Bell. Peppers- Hot varities including Ancho, Burning Bush, Cayenne, Chili, Habaneros, Jalapenos, Kung Pao, Peter Peppers, Salsa and Scotch Bonnet. Potatoes-- Reds and Russets Pumpkins CT Field Pumpkins -- These are whats planted in the big fields for Pumpkin Picking Days New in the patch this year-- Captain Jack, Gold Medal, Gold Medallion, Howden Gold Challenger, Jumping Jack, New Knucklehead. We also have Cinderella Pumpkins, White Pumpkins, Mini White Pumpkins, Mini Orange Pumpkins and Extra Large Pumpkins. Spinach Squash-- Acorn, Buttercup, Butternut, Delicata, Hubbards, Spaghetti, Turks and Zucchini Sweet Corn Sweet Potatoes Tomatoes Bushel Sales: Bushels of tomatoes will be available for these types of tomatoes. Canning/red tomatoes, Yellow/Lemon Boy tomatoes and Roma/Paste tomatoes. We are always trying new ways to make things better for you at the garden and our tomato crop is no exception. We have planted new varieties with our old favorites. The new reds will not be available in bushel lots individually but red/canning bushels will be a variety of what is coming out of the garden the day your order is to be picked up. This enables us to get you the bushels in a timely fashion and at the peak of freshness. Pound sales in the shed at any given time will be limited to the type ready for picking that day. Once again, we want to make the freshest product available to you.
