We offer pasture raised Cornish Cross meat chickens in late spring through mid-fall.
We also offer pasture raised White Breasted turkeys for pickup in early fall around the beginning of November. We require a $10 deposit and pickup the day after processing due to the lack of freezer space for all the Turkeys we process.
All of our poultry is fed with Modesto Milling feed, which is organic. We experimented with a non-corn/non-soy feed a year ago, but due to the genetics of the Cornish Cross breed of poultry it was not viable to continue to do so because it wasn't good for them. They need the high energy that corn and soy provide.
We just calved our second generation of Jersey cows earlier this year. Within the last two years we have focused on maintaining a closed herd, which is to say we bring no new cattle onto the land so that we can maintain the integrity of our herd and not introduce foreign bacteria and communicable diseases that run rampant through large dairy producers. With our growing herd of Jersey cows we are accepting new herdshare members interested in receiving raw and unadulterated milk.
We have a working garden with seasonal vegetables. The vegetables are either purely ours now due to cross breeding and seed collection, or we obtain our seeds from Baker Creek due to the variety that they offer and their focus on non-GMO based vegetables.
You can also find us at the Oakdale Farmers Market during the summer where we operate with our like-minded fellow farmers, The Barefoot Farmstead.
Lastly, farm tours are available upon further communication.
Oakdale Farmers Market every Saturday from 8am-11am (We do miss the occasional market due to having to process chickens on the weekend, please text or call to confirm our days at market)
