We are a federally certified, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Jim, our beekeeper extraordinaire, is a former Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer. He started keeping bees as a way to reduce PTSD and has grown the business as a productive way to use the land he owns and pollinate the nearby fruit trees, nut trees, and berries.
Our raw honey is special, not only because of the location, but also because we raise and care for our bees using organic practices as much as we possibly can. We hand harvest all the honey from our 30 hives, hand package and bottle it, and store it in a climate-controlled environment, so it retains its natural goodness. We also never over-filter our honey, so every jar includes all the enzymes and pollen you want in your raw honey.
We produce two main types of honey: light honey and dark honey. The lighter honey we produce is harvested in the spring, and we refer to it as clover honey because overall, it is the sweeter type. The dark honey is our wildflower honey, and it usually has more robust flavor and pollen in it.
We also make hand-crafted jellies from the muscadine grapes and pears that grow on our farm. Be sure to stop by the farm and try them all! You'll be addicted after the first bite!
If you are looking for an internship as a Veteran or a teen researching careers in farming, reach out to us and we can point you in the right direction so you can get paid to work on our farm or help other local farmers.
We sell roughly twice a month at the Fuquay-Varina Grower's Market in downtown Fuquay-Varina. We also sell at several major festivals including Benson Mule Days, the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival, Dunn Cotton Days, Benson Market in the Grove and others. Please see their schedule online.
