Anton and Rachel own and operate Mary Dirty Face Farm in Dunn County, southeast of Menomonie, WI.
We grow currants (red, black, pink, and white), gooseberries, raspberries, plums, apples, pears, and table grapes for fresh eating.
An important part of our plan for our farm is diversification to help manage risk, and allow us to offer fresh fruit throughout as long a season as we can manage in Wisconsin!
Our 60-acre farm, on the northern edge of the Driftless region, backs up against a ridge thats one of the highest points in the county. With slopes facing different directions, our site affords great orchard micro-climates, as well as beautiful views.
Our objective is to provide clean, nutritionally rich fruits and vegetables to customers in the Chippewa Valley and the Twin Cities, while building a business that supports our family.
We chose to work primarily with perennial fruit as we start to build a sustainable farm system. Its important to us to build healthy, biologically active soil as a base for plant and human health
