The McKittrick Farmers Mercantile is a newly renovated old fashioned mercantile store on the Katy Trail in McKittrick. In anticipation of our soon to open local foods restaurant we have established a local food circle which meets once a month at our location. The food circle is a supportive group of food producers and consumers interested in purchasing locally grown food.
We are working to establish a year round local foods market. At the monthly gatherings we host a potluck supper of locally grown food, distribute and exchange products, and share ideas and enthusiasm usually with some type of educational presentation. Everyone is welcome to attend this free monthly event held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm. For more information, email us.
