Nelson Family Organics is located in Watsonville, Ca. We proudly farm 4 acres on two plots of land on Freedom Blvd.. We are a family owned and operated farm, implementing organic and sustainable approaches. Through seasonal cover crops, hedgerows, in-field beneficial plantings, crop-rotation, water conservation, introduction and encouragement of beneficial insects and many other "good farm management practices," Nelson Family Organics provides the land with what it needs, hoping it will provide us the same. The owners and farmers are Dustin and April Nelson. Together, along with their three young children, the Nelson's farm and run all aspects of Nelson Family Organics and enjoy every minute of the farm life. "To us, farming could never be a job, as April is already an amazing 3rd grade teacher, but instead, farming is a chosen life-style where we have the ability to work hard and provide our community with the healthiest, most nutritious produce possible. I love farming!" - Dustin Nelson Nelson Family Organics grows golden raspberries, including Anne (gold), and amazingly sweet strawberries. We grow red, purple, white, and orange carrots, as well as turnips, broccoli, beets, kale, chard, three varieties of cucumbers, summer and winter squash, dry-farmed tomatoes (Early Girl), Heirloom tomatoes, sweet Padrons, Cayenne, and Jalepeno peppers, lettuces, cut flowers and perennial herbs, and many other unique crops.
