* MAPLE SYRUP - sorry to our loyal customers but not available this year
*BARBADOS BLACKBELLY SHEEP - A rare heritage breed of Caribbean hair sheep, on the Priority list of the Livestock Conservancy. They are noted for their parasite resistance, multiple births, good mothering, browsing habits and lean carcass traits, much like goats. Both males & females are naturally polled (no horns), and do not require shearing, crutching, disbudding or tail docking. We have not had to deworm any of these sheep because of their natural resistance to parasites. We have seven ram lambs, born in April 2025, still available.
We are members of the Livestock Conservancy and are participating fiber providers in the Shave Em to Save Em (SE2SE) Program.
We sell from the farm, call & pick up your order 9am-5pm, Mon-Sat,,or by appointment.
ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS:
MAPLE SYRUP
Due to the death of all the ash, that comprised over 25% of the mature tree species in our woods, we have had to suspend production of maple syrup. Falling branches and trees destroyed our sap collection system. It will take time to clear and recover our capacity to make this much loved local product.
We do not offer farm tours at this time.
For those who want to learn about and experience "old time" sugaring in N.J., we recommend these public programs for all ages:
Howell Living History Farm, Mercer county; the Nature Center at Washingtons Crossing State Park, Titusville, NJ; the Watershed Association, Pennington, NJ; Lord Stirling Park, Somerset county; Lusscroft Farm, Sussex county. They all have "maple sugaring" events during February and March, with websites and program calendars. We got our first taps at Howell Farm over 30 years ago!
Sweet Sourland Farms thanks our loyal and patient customers.
