Knight's Rest Retreat

Small farmstead dairy featuring three rare breeds of dairy cattle, each uniquely suited to grass-based milk production. Cows include Dutch Belted(Lakenvelder) the "Oreo" cow with their striking white "BELTS" with black or red on both ends. The Dutch Belteds produce milk that has very small fat particles which makes digestibility similar to goat's milk. Also included in the herd is a breed newly introduced into the USA, called Viking Red(Danish Red) from Denmark. Chosen for their ability to produce high quality milk on pasture alone, with extremely high "yield" for cheese making, these lovely red and white girls add calm beauty to our pastures. The third breed is Guernsey which is very rare in today's high pressure production dairies. As a result, the common Guernsey is gone and most are now seen only in the show ring. We love the quiet elegance of these big blonde dairy girls. We breed for A2/A2 Beta Casein choosing only the highest quality bulls from around the world! Visitors are welcome, just call first as we are busy folks and want to be available for your visit. Fresh raw whole milk available for purchase, $4.00 per gallon.
