When you purchase honey or other beehive products, you need to know that it is all it ought to be. We sell honey: the whole honey, and nothing but the honey; pure, local, raw, unfiltered, USA honey produced in Harrison and Doddridge Counties. We also offer pollen, beeswax, propolis, and royal jelly when it is available.
We use locally adapted honey bee stock and raise our bees naturally. After repeated tests, we have found our colonies free of Chalkbrood, American foulbrood, and Nosema. We sell nucleus colonies for local pick-up and queens raised from our most vigorous, productive, gentle, untreated mother colonies. Learn more at https://www.honeyglen.com/our-stock-2/
We host farm tours for school groups and families.
The Principle Operator at Honey Glen is Michael Staddon, Master Beekeeper in the WVBA Master Beekeeper Program, and past president of the North Central West Virginia Beekeepers Association, secretary for the West Virginia Beekeepers Association, and part time hive inspector for the West Virginia Department of Agriculture. He has been active in beekeeper education since 2007.
We view our labor in agriculture as a stewardship of God's creation and view the health of plants, animals, and people as functioning according to His design. We see great value in using modern capabilities without violating this original intent. Our bees are registered with the state of West Virginia and regularly inspected.
