Welcome to Pete's Fine Swine! We're dedicated to humanely and ethically growing healthy, delicious meat for your table. We raise Berkshire-cross pigs on pasture with plenty of space, sunshine, and fresh air in a stress-free environment where they can act and interact like pigs are supposed to. We don't use hormones, antibiotics, or growth promoters. Our top priority is to raise animals in an environment that is natural to them and to do it humanely. Our animals are treated with respect to their nature. Pigs are animals and animals do best outdoors. Pigs are the ultimate scroungers. Their nose is always to (or in) the ground looking for something to eat. Raising them on pasture allows them to satisfy their instinctual need to root and to forage in a natural, stress-free environment. Not only is it just better for the pigs, but the resulting meat quality is outstanding. Our hogs get plenty of back-scratches and when butcher day comes, they are slaughtered professionally on-site to spare them the stress of loading and trailering to a slaughterhouse. We use Byron Center Meats to do our processing. They are the premier processor in West Michigan and do a fantastic job. You'll never go back to store-bought, factory pork again!
