Pine Grove Mills Harvest Festival

We are volunteers for the upcoming (2018) weekly Pine Grove Mills Farmer's Market, in Ferguson Township, Centre County, PA. We invite you to the First Annual Pine Grove Mills Harvest Festival to celebrate this exciting creative occasion. Date: Saturday, Sept. 16th, 2017, 10am-2pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church parking lot -- where the market will be next year! The Harvest Festival will include live local bluegrass and country music, hotdogs and soup, popcorn, baked good, homemade jams and jellies, apple cider, apple dumplings, apple butter, and Festival-made apple sauce...because it turns out to be National Apple Dumpling Day! Vendors will sell fresh produce, pies, oils and soaps, textiles, yarns and even Grange Fair Cookbooks. For children, there will be free vision testing, Nature Crafts, face-painting by our local Girl Scouts, and a bevy of decorated pumpkins. Come see demonstrations of Drone Flight and Heritage Quilt Square sign painting, and photograph your loved ones in the Harvest Train Photo Booths...little ones can peek out through the "Papoose Caboose". Shell corn in an antique corn sheller, and Strut & Sashay the Pastry Path in our Southern-style Cake Walk! Proceeds go to Lutheran Hurricane Disaster Relief. All three Pine Grove Mills churches (St. Paul Lutheran, Pine Grove Presbyterian and St. Alban's Anglican) are cooking, and our Ferguson Township Lion's Club "cooks themselves unconscious" as usual. This is a true community effort. While we celebrate Apple Everything, we are building our Farmer's Market for 2018, to be held on Thursdays here in our beloved village, founded in 1801. PINE GROVE MILLS...it's not just that blinking light at the bottom of the mountain, on your way to Whipple's Dam. It's a Local Harvest...on the Purple Heart Highway...beneath the Golden Eagle Flyway! Pretty Colorful, Isn't it?
