Prairie Heritage Farm is a diversified organic farm in central Montana, where the mountains meet the prairie. The Farm is run and managed by the husband-and-wife team of Jacob and Courtney Cowgill, two native Montanans returning to their central Montana roots. We're located near the small town of Power. Power sits on the short grass prairie, where the Rocky Mountains meet the plains. Our farm seeks to honor the heritage of the native prairie, Montana's agriculture, and our farm's diverse animal breeds and plant varieties. When settlers came to the prairies, they started small-scale diversified family farms. At Prairie Heritage Farm, we are doing the same in the 21st century.
We grow garlic seed and ancient and heritage varieties of grains. In 2016, we started an on-farm micro-bakery called Blue Truck Bread, using a wild starter and grain we grow and mill.

I was so happy with my grain shipment each month! It came with a recipe for each grain, tips, and was packaged so nicely! They sent a reminder postcard when my monthly shipments were up and needed to be renewed. I am looking forward to getting more from this great farm!
