Refuge Farm began years ago with a girls dream to one day own chickens and has evolved into a reality with fun adventures and a commitment to grow as natural as possible for our family and the families in our community. Our mini farm although very diverse with crochet and many other things going on, is dedicated and committed to growing all natural healthy poultry for local families. Our chickens free range daily eating grass, greens, bugs and supplemental natural feed. Their diet varies as on cold days we may choose to cook them a warm meal of rice, oatmeal, chili or buckwheat pancakes and on warm days we make them corn popsicles. Spoiled girls they are. Our meat birds are grown as free ranged within a specific area to keep them safe. They eat foraged material as well as supplemental grain feed daily. They are housed in enclosed pens overnight to protect them from natural predators and the elements. We practice open farming here on Refuge Farms which allows our customers to visit the chickens during the growing season.
