It's an unbeatable picnic destination beside the Yellowstone River and at the feet of the Absorka Mountains. You can stock up on fresh, local produce, sample some of the region's best prepared foods, and chat with friends while listening to live music. The market cultivates business skills and entrepreneurship in kids with its "Youth Booths." It also ensures that fresh, local food is available to seniors through vendor participation in the USDA Senior Farmers Market Nutritional Program. The Livingston Farmers Market is a true community event.

Heads up. This review is the biased opinion of an employee for Western Sustainability Exchange, the self serving, profit driven "non-profit" organization that breaks their own arm off to pat themselves on the back for runing the market and charges local growers to be listed on their website. In reality they are more interested in sustaining themselves and their own jobs as opposed to actually promoting and developing a more ecologically sound localized food system. If you wish to follow up on this critique just ask Tyrell why the farmers and ranchers aren't given a break on booth rates and are charged the same as funnel cake and sno-cone peddlers. Or you could simply ask what proportion of the vendors are actual growers and not jewelry makers or local restaurants selling meals made of SYSCO and FSA ingredients. In actuality, this market is more like a county carnival save for the rides. The market is a valuable opportunity for local growers to sell what they grow and for that we are thankful.
