Farmers Market at LaCenterra

By: Laura (Apr 28, 2008)
I have been going to farmer markets for years, all over, and travelled a ways for this one, it was a waste of my time, one particular complaint is the group of "kids" who were selling the produce they had grown themselves, I understand they are regulars there. I know a lot about agriculture and when I started talking with the "owner" it became clear he knew nothing about farming and was offering out of season vegetables for Texas this is common but these kids were the most obvious I had ever seen. In fact there was quite a few shady characters there who seemed to know very little about there trade, from a seasoned veteran I have learned be VERY careful, ask questions and if you get a bad vibe chances are you are right and don't risk it, donÂ?t assume they are telling you the truth nothing is regulated out there and most importantly donÂ?t forget to haggle! One huge plus there was a man and wife selling "worm dirt" and the BEST bread and butter pickles I have ever had must buy! Also there was a gentleman selling "Fast Indian FoodÂ? gave lots of samples and everything was GREAT!
