Colchester Farm CSA

We signed up for a small share and pick ups Friday at the farm. The variety was excellent. I loved being able to pick what we wanted each week, and going to farm where the produce was grown really help make the connection between what you eat and where it comes from. When our baby started eating solid foods, I felt good knowing we were giving her freshly harvested, pesticide-free options. The farm also has a social aspect, I took yoga classes there for a while, and they have various member gatherings (although we didn't participate this year). You get to know the folks who are planning, planting, and harvesting your veggies, what could be better? They also have eggs and you can "meet" the chickens who laid them as they forage on the farm. They also offered whole chickens twice this season, and we may try that next year. Oh, and if they were offereing any unusual produce items, recipe ideas were provided. I loved this experience and was sad to see the season end last week. I can't wait until next year!
