North East Farmers Market

Fresh-picked asparagus grown only minutes from my home; jams and jellies made by the sweetest little woman you will ever meet (her name is Marge Barker); and scores of neighbors and friends who gather to chat about children, politics, and where the fish are biting are among the many reasons I love visiting the North East Farmers Market, located in the oldest, largest, Concord grape growing region in the world. Yesterday I brought home a lovely bouquet of perennials and wildflowers sold by the six-year-old granddaughter of a good friend, for $1.
