Doylestown Farmers Market

Growing up in Europe, this is the way I always did my shopping.I was surprised by how disconnected and unaware people in US are when it comes to basics like food.It is just common sense that you should be nourishing yourself /and your children/with fresh, seasonal and locally grown food/of course free of chemicals/.I feel that you should know where it comes from and who grows it/if you can't do it yourself/.D-town farmers market is pretty incredible place and it is a social venue for lot of us.I formed lot of friendships with farmers over the years and place remind me little bit of home, where you know your vendors. Our farmers are intelligent and aware people who work so hard and I wish that people would think about their words when making a purchase.Sometimes I hear very insulting comments about the price. If those people try to do it themselves they will definitely have better appreciation of the hard work going into bringing us this beautiful fresh food.Whether it is growing it,harvesting it,transporting it or selling it to us.Our farmers work very long hours and growing food is very risky business. It depends on so many factors out of farmers control/weather,pests etc./.Let just appreciate them more.Thank you farmers.
