JR Organics

The produce from J.R. Organics is very fresh and tastes great. It's also well-washed, which is nice when you're in a hurry to make a yummy salad. This week's box contained: 2 big heads of lettuce, a giant avocado, a yellow-fleshed watermelon, a basket of tiny yellow grape tomatoes, sweet onions, zucchini, apples, a bunch of baby carrots, some pickling cucumbers, green beans, and a bundle of fresh herbs. We get a box every other week and most of the fruits and veggies still look fresher after two weeks than the ones in the produce section of the grocery store. Customer service is excellent and payment is convenient by credit card. I pick up my box inside the store at a local nursery where it's protected from the elements. Members of the CSA get to visit the farm once a year to meet the farmer and staff, tour the fields and greenhouses and eat a fantastic meal prepared by farmer Joe's family. It's great to really know where your food comes from and to like the people who are providing it.
