This was the first year for Wise Acre, and it was spectacular. Every week a basket of beautiful, fresh vegetables, herbs and big brown eggs arrived in my driveway, along with a fun newsletter that had recipes, updates on the crops, and suggestions for using the foods.
Great variety--traditional and unusual veggies that I had not tried before, always whatever was freshest and ripest that week. The corn was amazing--I had great meals of big sweet tomatoes, corn on the cob and tender sweet chard. All winter I will taste the stir fries with snow peas, onions and yellow squash, ratatouille with the zucchini, onions and eggplants, and the salads with radishes, leaf lettuces, cucumbers, big red tomatoes---I could go on and on. My friends were glad to help me out, as I always had more than I could eat alone.
Marc and Heidi make you feel like part of the family with little updates on what they and their kids are doing on the farm. It was my first experience with a CSA, and I look forward to being a member next year.
