Alambria Springs Farm CSA

By: Kristen Luke-Houseman (Jan 22, 2010)
This was the first year our family was involved with a CSA. I was a bit nervous at first, as I'd heard some stories about other CSA's providing a less than exciting array of produce and I was afraid I wouldn't know what to do with some of the veggies. This proved never to be the case with Alambria Springs!

From out first adventure up the driveway to visit the farm we have all felt comfortable and at ease, like true partners in our share. We received a bountiful quantity and variety of produce from early June to late November. The foodstuffs were always freshly picked (at their peak) and both beautiful to look at and remarkable in flavor. We were provided ample amounts of anticipated staples throughout the season (such as salad greens, beets, cabbages, carrots, onions, garlic and potatoes) and an enviable assortment of 'in-season' varieties as available (like shallots, leeks, tomatoes, broccoli, beans, squash, etc). I cannot say enough how thrilled we were with our share.

Our weekly visits to the farm were also a highly anticipated adventure, Amy and Brian always making time to answer questions or show us something new. We have all missed our weekly pick-up and the produce since the season ended. The first few weeks I felt as though suddenly my cupboards were bare! It has been an incredible blessing for our our family to a part of Alambria Springs Farm for the 2009 season and will continue to be members in the CSA for the foreseeable future.

If you truly care what you and your family eats, this is the place for you.
