Each and every week was like Christmas. There was CSA eve, and then there was THE day. A box filled with the beautiful colors of each week's harvest...yes, I have photos! There were thing I recognized and enjoyed and there were things so foreign to our palates I would NEVER have looked at them twice in another venue. The Dennison family spent time identifying the foods as well as sharing their recipes. These good folks brought cookbooks pertaining to eating around the harvest and recommended books others had shared with them. This experience was and is like being an extended member of a gracious family.
Now, the facts, plain and simple. We are a family of two adults. The full share we enjoyed allowed us to share with a nieghbor and freeze some items. Additionally, we enjoyed fresh herbs and dried others for use throughout the winter months.. There were eight to ten different items, in ample portions, each and every week. Some weeks there was more. The quality was second to none.
Now, I cannot inagine my summers without the Dennison family and this amazing CSA they allow me to share in. It's time to share the secret...we're eating good, healthy, and local. What's not to love?
