Little Peace Farm

I just joined this CSA. I am a vegetarian but only considered myself an OK cook. I just picked up my first share on Saturday and I made a simple fritata with the fresh spinach and garlic scapes (new to me)and freshly grated parmesean cheese. We had lightly steamed fresh sugar snap peas and a rustic bread with parmesean cheese lightly melted on top. It was a simple meal but the fresh vegetables were wonderful. I felt like a gourmet cook. My husband said that this was better than meals we have had in very nice restaurants in NYC.

We also bought strawberries. My New Years resolution was to learn to eat more and varied fruit this year. I am 57 years old and the only one in my family who never cared for most fruit, especially strawberries. Well, let me tell you. The strawberries were the most red, ripe, juicy, and may I say luscious that I have ever eaten. I am hoping to be able to buy more this week.

When we met Michael, one of the owners, he was most helpful, nice and kind. He explained how the program worked and answered all my questions patiently. I am looking forward to meeting his wife.

The produce was extremely fresh. They also prewash all the produce before they package it. The produce was beautiful. (Be sure to rewash it yourself for complete safety)

Their website also has recipe suggestions for using their produce.

My family and I are looking forward to a long, delightful, and delicious summer with Little Peace Farm.
