Rise Up Farms Cooperative

I was elated this year to go a step further in our local food commitment and participate in a CSA. I was even more thrilled to learn that a new, organic farm had begun in Elkhart, Indiana, a place not exactly known for it's commitment to sustainable living (or anything green, for that matter)!

It has been a joy to get our bag(s) of food each week from, as the kids say, "our farmer" Shaun, as well as go through the seasonally appropriate recipes and blogs that he sends out regularly. The food has been fresh and delicious. It has forced us to try new vegetables with positive results (even from my 1, 5, 7, and 9 year olds!) Any question has been answered in a timely and knowledgable fashion, and it is clear that the people at Rise Up are deeply committed to their cause that is stated in the description on their localharvest home page. We look forward to continuing our relationship in the future.
