Chinook Farms

It's only our third week with the CSA, and the weather has been poor this year. The spinach in our boxes the past two weeks has been amazing. My 6 year old daughter who claims to hate spinach, ate it many times in the past few weeks without complaint. It makes a great salad and lasts the whole week. Carrrots and beets were great too. My husband ate beets for the first time roasted, and liked then. We even roasted the leaves. Eric and his farmers were very friendly and helpful. They even cut my herbs for me so my toddler wouldn't run off. I am so happy to support a local farm. I'm really looking forward to the warm weather crops. They have hoop houses for these veggies to help them along in these cool spring days. To me, it's a no-brainer. Better taste, better nutrient value and supporting a working local farm as opposed to a corporate chain is the best decision.
