As a Texas Master Gardener, it still amazes me that there are so many people who do not know when LOCAL produce is in season. The Tomball Farmers Market is in its third year and more produce vendors and customers show up each week. I go every week and often hear people say in March or April, "where are the tomatoes and watermelons" or in July and ask "where is the lettuce". Ignorance is bliss, I suppose, but those who give bad ratings because they did not find what they wanted should educate themselves a bit more. Produce is the primary focus of the market, but other local handmade items and farm products are allowed as well. I just returned from today's market and it was FANTASTIC. Lots of produce and the sweetest watermelon I have had in ages. Also a local gentleman with beautiful handmade birdhouses. I suppose some folks like the chineese ones better. If they don't like what Tomball has to offer, the can go to Houston and get some Mexican tomatoes!
