I had the privilege to be a member of this CSA for two years in a row. In both cases I did a split share since it wasn't possible for me to use up all the produce each week that one got from the farm. The quantity and selection of produce was always top notch. It wasn't just your run of the mill tomatoes or zucchini, though you get plenty of that too. You will get lots of exposure to new breeds of everyday vegetables (I lost track of the varieties of potatoes one year) as well as exposure to some you may have never even heard of before (kohlrabi comes to mind for that one). Brian, the farmer, is one of the most friendly people you will ever meet and has the heart of a teacher. He also did a good job of extending the season so pick-ups started in the early part of their estimated schedule and went well past the end of their estimated season with a few bonus harvests. When people ask me for the recommendation of a CSA in the area to join, Shaw Farm is the first one I send them to.
