Bumblebee Farm

We are so close yet so farm from the source of our food in Gresham. Bumblebee Farm and it's Twelve Mile Market point of sale knit us closer to the source of what sustains us! Farmer Dave is super friendly and will not only show you what he plucked from the earth that very morning, but he is a wealth of knowledge on how to make your own organic garden more effective, tasty and beautiful. The Thursday and Friday offerings at the market stretch far beyond what the earth gave up that morning, however. As it grows, you'll find organic produce which fills out the range that this week's harvest may not offer. There is something akin to buying a glass of lemonade from your favorite neighborhood kid when you go there. The pride Farmer Dave has is infectious. Produce lovingly displayed on tables of the leftover SaraLee outlet look out of place to say the least and thus you want to whisk it all home to put on your own table. You'll be as proud to serve your family his bounty! Besides that, you'll find a smattering of other useful organics, a handful of cleaning supplies, seeds packed by kids and locally roasted organic coffee.

This is a local and sustainable establishment through and through. Get out and support this local gem, connect with your food's source, bring the kids (today I caught him mesmerizing some) and be prepared to find a recipe for today's bounty. I only wish the hours weren't so limiting. I find myself on Tuesday wishing it were Thursday. Don't miss: 1 lb of gorgeous, meaty, buttery salad greens.
