Gilcrease Orchard

This place is so awesome. I wasn't sure what to expect (I mean, really? A FARM in Las Vegas?) but I was blown away. The pumpkin selection wasn't the greatest, but that's our fault for going so close to Halloween (I got several adorable smaller ones for table decor and am planning to go earlier in the season next year). Their apple cider is FABULOUS and they even make mini donuts fresh to order and glaze them with a yummy cinnamon frosting of some kind. I was expecting to run out of money and not be able to get everything we wanted because we only brought 30 dollars. We spent 4 on the cider, 4 on the donuts (2 sets of 6 minis) and the other 7.50 went to 6 patch picked pumpkins (again keep in mind they aren't the large carving sized, but are still between 6 and 12 inches tall), a mini pumpkin that was pre-picked by checkout, and a small bag of self picked peppers (which was under 20...who could beat an afternoon out with a family...3 of us...and spend less than 20 dollars?). The hay ride was free and convenient because the orchard is VERY big so they take you to the veggies and to the patch and back around front, but you'll still do plenty of walking. We had a blast letting our one year old run around and got plenty of photos. We definitely plan on making this a family tradition, but BELIEVE them when their site says to go early in the season because the ONLY thing that could have made the experience better would have been getting a pumpkin that we could carve into.
