City of Poway Saturday Farmers Market

This farmers' market has some unique items I had not seen before, chipotle jam, tomato jelly, an almond-based dip called Bitchin' Sauce. There was a nice selection of peppers too. There was a goat cheese selection, but it was goat cheese which seemed to be made from non-segregated goats (keeping the females far from the billy), so it had a very strong smell and taste of goat. Some people like that but many don't.

There were a lot of tomatoes, lotions, and crafts. And there was a lot of prepared food, hot and ready to eat, which doesn't help my refrigerator.

The prices were very high for a farmers' market. And I wished there were local ranchers there with grass-fed beef. I also wanted more of a selection of veggies. Different varieties of onions is always good, squashes, and other healthy vegetables would have been fabulous. But honestly, there just wasn't a great selection.

I've been to the OB market, and several in another state, as well as one at the Embarcadero in San Francisco. And the Poway market pales in comparison.
