The Wild Ramp

The Wild Ramp is an integral part of my community. The access to farm fresh, local produce, artisan and other resources is astounding, but knowing the volunteers in the shop, board members present and behind the scenes, and neighbors who have seen this market to fruition is vital to my quality of life in Huntington. Centering a community around health and service builds a strong network for our family.

The market has seen a tremendous amount of growth since inception and has experienced what I would identify as growing pains. With each new challenge they have found a creative solution. The supply continues to expand, they have introduced volunteer incentives, they have developed positive producer relationships, and have customers that keep coming back for new treasures.

The selection is diverse (honeys, soups, vegetables, jams, chips, pastas, meats, dairy, cards, wool) and surprising (peacock feathers, bamboo stalks, tofu). The location is inviting, as the entire Heritage Station offers an unique shopping experience.

We appreciate the focus on education, community and local economy. I used to wonder why they didn't have snap peas, well, it was August and snap peas are cool weather plants! Having a market that changes with the seasons has been a refreshing experience for our whole family.
