I had been going to a weekly farmers market to buy local produce. One recent fall weekend the market was closed, but luckily I found out that Uncle Bill's farm stand would be open so I decided to give it a try. Their produce was just gorgeous, everything tastes just-picked fresh and delicious. So far I've had: kale, bok choy, bell peppers, turnips, cheese pumpkin, radishes and cauliflower. Their eggs are amazing, the deepest orange yolks I've ever seen. I have been back every weekend since and plan to join the CSA next year. Bonus: my son joins me on these trips just to play with the farm dog, who loves to greet visitors and seems to have an abundance of energy to play fetch with anyone who will indulge her.
