The Hiday Farm

I was introduced to Dan and his products down at Eastern Market in Detroit a couple of years ago. I was intrigued by his pastured, all grass-fed beef. Let me tell you, it's the best beef I have ever had. My job affords me the opportunity to travel to different locales, including Brazil and Argentina, places known for their beef. While their's is good, Dan's is better. It reminds me of the beef I used to have as a kid before everything became "corn fed" bland.

For my first taste, I decided to go with something simple and made burgers from some ground beef. The one thing that I've always found with pastured beef versus mass produced, is how little of the fat renders out. Dan's ground beef didn't disappoint. Those burgers were tender, juicy and full of flavor. I've had some other pasture raised beef before that was so strong in taste/smell, it was almost inedible. Not this beef. It has a nice, rich flavor to it without being overpowering.

Eating the steaks and roasts helped confirm that I had made the right choice in buying Dan's product, and will continue to buy from him.
