Stoney Meadow Farm

After moving back to Milwaukee from NE Wisconsin, I shopped around for a CSA to join and couldn't find one that really appealed to my standards for organic farming. A lot of black plastic is being used in the industry and other practices that I personally do not consider to be organic even though there are no specific rules against it. I believe if you really want to know if a farm is organic, you need to go see it for yourself and talk to the owners. Stoney Meadow Farm had no problem with that and welcomed my visit and questions-- the difference from other farms I saw was remarkable!

Stoney Meadow Farm is the real deal, and the owners background as PhD's in organic chemistry give the assurance they really know how to run a world class organic farm!! Despite last year's oppressive heat, they turned out fantastic produce. My summer salads, side dishes, and vegetarian lasagna received praise from both family and company. Toward the fall, we continued to receive an awesome variety of produce with plenty of acorn squash which is my favorite.

The owners are really down to earth people who are so nice. With summer always having more scheduling commitments, I requested on several occasions to switch my pickup days which was accommodated no problem, and I received quick responses via email even on the mundane questions like how to best prepare a particular vegetable. The price for a share is competitive, and the renewal rate is favorable to existing members.

I will be a longtime member of Stoney Meadow Farms and recommend them to everyone I know.
