Southern Exposure Seed Exchange

I just received my seed packets (artichoke, Brussels sprouts, arugula, and dill). They arrived safe and sound in a padded envelope. They arrived on time and as expected. Each seed packet has instructions on how to sow the seeds. I look forward to giving them a try this season. Thank you Southern Exposure Seed Exchange.

I liked their offerings and prompt efficient shipment, and the seeds were in good shape. But I've been having problems I've never had before and each one has one common denominator- seeds bought from Southern Seed Exchange. I bought some Canterbury Bells seeds that never germinated. OK, they're difficult...but the same week I successfully germinated gloxinias from seeds which is much harder, so I know what I'm doing. Then I got some pepper seeds and the leaves were curled in a way that looked like stress. I thought that maybe I had given them too much fertilizer right off- unlikely since I've never accidentally done that before- and as they grow I've had to conclude they have Tobacco Mosaic Virus. I never have these problems with seeds from other sources, so I'm really wondering about SSE. Then I saw the other review on this site. Who reviews a seed outlet without planting the seeds?!? That sounds like a planted review (no pun intended), and those are a sure sign of real problems. Fake reviews are a bussiness' way of admitting that they can't or won't solve a problem. So, I think people need to hear, "Buyer Beware" with this one. At a minimum I would recommend starting with a small order before spending real money to see if you have odd problems suddenly.
