NOFC refuses to work towards membership in the National Cooperative Grocers Association for the reason it is expensive to get in yet the prices at NOFC are on average higher than at Whole Foods Market.

Turnover is high and unfortunately it is more a hub for the gentrification going on in the Marigny in New Orleans at the hands of developer Pres Kabacoff catering to voluntourists and not long lived residents just on the other side of St. Claude avenue who are black and poor.

The best outcome is that NOFC revert to a buying club and close the storefront.
