Took a drive out this past weekend and it was a wasted trip. The fields looked so sparse and unkept and what very few strawberries we found were no bigger than the tip of my little finger and most were not even ready for picking. I understand the bad winter played a part but don't advertise that you have strawberries when you don't. I even called ahead. You could have been honest and said that the picking was slim. Honestly, you should have closed down the fields until you had a better crop. Pickers beware, this is not the place to go.
Heard about a place in Dinwiddie (Adams Acres) and took a drive out there. What a difference. The fields were amazing. Acres of beautiful plants with beautiful strawberries. It was well worth the drive and about the same distance that I traveled to Gallmeyer.
