Joe Walker and his delightful wife Kelley have created a charming experience when they opened their own farm store, located in the 'downhill' side of an imposing barn in the heart of the old town of Markham, VA. Just a stone's throw from Interstate 66 in picturesque northern Fauquier County, their demand for quality and their talent for eye appeal makes this a must-do if you are ever in the area. They sell not only the humanely raised and pastured hogs and beef from their own Dark Hollow Farm, but they also sell quality local foodstuffs from other small-scale producers who practice sustainable agriculture. Moreover, they offer yummy organic dairy, on-tap local kombucha in four flavors, gluten-free products and, just in time for the holidays, handmade items made by local artisans. All of this, plus the dramatic lighting that showcases the hand-laid stones of the building's foundation and the colorful packaging of their products. Don't miss this gem!
