Foppema's Farm

I can't think of a better way to prepare for Thanksgiving than by cooking and baking with fresh local produce. And this November, Foppema's is open (fewer days/hours - see their web site for hours) with all local produce! If you're like me, the winter squash alone will spoil you for shopping at a supermarket - imagine winter squash is SUPPOSED to have flavor! How can I go back to the tasteless stuff at the markets after this?

Lots and lots of apple varieties to choose from, too. And lettuce, root crops, etc. Don't expect hothouse stuff, though - this is all local-grown produce this month.

Hope they will be able to make this an "every year" thing.
