Bell's Lane Farm - Compost

We purchased a pickup-truck load of compost from Bell's Lane Farm in spring 2014. We were attempting to garden a hilly spot that had previously (at least in recent memory) only been used for a dog run and growing grass. The soil was hard and our first attempt to plant without any amendments resulted in extremely stunted and non-bearing plants. This time, we tilled the soil well and spread the Bell's Lane compost over the whole area generously (the pickup load covered around 20x20 for us). We had a gorgeous garden, with tomato plants hitting 6-7 feet tall! The compost itself had a few sticks in it, but overall was very good quality, and the results were everything we could have hoped for!
