Hangin' H

We like the idea of supporting local farmers who use sustainable, earth, and animal friendly practices and were happy to discover just such an enterprise in Hangin' H Farms which had a booth set up at Forney's 2nd Saturday Artisan Market! The farm owners are friendly, informative, and generous.

Their eggs come in "mixed" sizes like hens lay naturally and not the huge scary size such as sold in big name grocery stores (pity those poor hens). Hangin' H's eggs are rich and satisfying with an awesome colored yolk. Just like kids, we can't wait to crack those brown shells to get our eyes on those beautiful yolks. They also offer grass fed beef which we really enjoy. The steak, roast, and ground beef is tasty, not highly marbled and not "gamey or wild" tasting. It reminds me of how meat used to smell and taste when I was a child and mom did all the cooking. Recommend? Yes!!
