Whitley Farms

We have enjoyed berry picking at Whitley Farms in the past and we went again today. When we have visited in the past and inquired about weighing our berries because the kids LOVE to pick I was told not to worry, that I should let them pick as much as they'd like and then they would sell whatever I didn't want to buy to other customers who where not interested in the picking experience. I did just that today and they said that is no longer their policy AFTER we had picked. (To be fair did not confirm today) I now have $78 worth of blackberries and blueberries. I hate to be a nasty customer but this is a huge policy to change without putting up a sign or giving any notice. When I messaged the owner to express my displeasure he basically said tough cookies...the berries where a great price and that they only do this during certain "seasons". If you decide to take your family be aware that the picking baskets they hand out hold approx 5 lbs of blackberries!
