Fran and Ann's Produce Stand

I bought 4 bales of what I was told is second cut grass hay. When I first looked at it, it looked more like timothy hay so I asked again if it was second cut grass hay. Well my goat is used to a quality second cut grass hay I normally drive to Quakertown for but I needed it and the farm in Quakertown was unavailable and I thought "Well Collegeville is closer so why not try it." My goat doesn't like it and is wasting most of it. It has more strawlike content in it than he is used to. Even the look of it looks more like Timothy hay which has no nutritional value for my goat. My daughter even questioned me and said it doesn't look as good as what we were getting in Quakertown and even Oley Feed when they have it. I can't believe this hay is a good second cut grass hay so I guess I made a mistake and will have to waste it or use it for bedding for this winter. I'll have to make a trip to Quakertown and toss this hay up as a loss. At least it was only $20 but still, say it's good??
