Old Path Farm

By: Ruth Dandrea (Mar 21, 2019)
Just going to Old Path Farm is a treat. The hilltop expanse of growing things soothes the soul. The farmers are friendly, open, knowledgeable. The work of their hands, delicious and nutritious. Taking home lettuces, Swiss chard, kale, pounds of potatoes, bundles of beets, celery, bok choi, the best-tasting carrots in the world, more and more as we move through the seasons, lets the subscriber savor the offerings of earth, water, light and human work, all week long, all summer long, through the fall, with reserves of root vegetables tucked away in a cold place for winter. Farm day is a favorite. An over-full basket of produce as well as the joy of traipsing from greenhouse to field to pluck sunny grape tomatoes from vines taller than we are, to crouching between rows to harvest beans and peas, to wandering among gardens of flowers to cut bouquets bringing the outdoors in, all of it pleases all of us who go, who belong, who've been welcomed into the family that Old Path Farm is.
