For the last 3 years, my husband and I split a CSA box from Dunlooken with another family. LOVE! They are a family-owned small operation and you have the option of adding fruit, eggs, and meat to your CSA. During the season, the weekly email newsletter is so helpful - it describes the box contents and includes suggestions and recipes for the produce. Off-season, they continue to keep us updated on the farm through a monthly newsletter. They have open houses and we love visiting them to help plant/pick veggies, feed the animals (chickens, ducks, goats, cats, horses), and take pony or hay rides.

It's a personalized box - before the season starts, they ask you to rate your veggie/fruit preferences so you get more of what you love and less of what you don't like - so nice! We really appreciated that extra personal touch. Also, when they have an abundance of a crop, they let us know so we had the option of getting more of it.

And they are so NICE! It's really been a pleasure. I work with farmers markets and my husband is a chef and we're both incredibly happy with everything they have to offer. They are quick to respond to questions and invite your input and suggestions too. 4 years ago we had a different CSA (larger, further away) and felt there wasn't enough of a personal touch so Dunlooken was a great fit.

Below are links to my photos that show the farm, their produce, and meals we've made with our Dunlooken CSA boxes -

As my first venture into CSAs Dunlooken has set the bar high. They have been very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed weekends out working with them on the farm and all of the things I've learned in the process.

The vegetables are better than what I can buy at the store. Fresher and better variety. It is great to sit down to a meal that you just picked earlier that day. We always seem to have extra - I'm still working on preserving what I got last weekend! The habaneros really surprised me with how hot they were!

I am so disappointed that we'll be moving next summer and won't really be able to participate.

2010 was our first experience with a CSA and we were really glad we chose Dunlooken Farm!

They go above and beyond to provide different varieties of quality vegetables. They take the timie to get to know what you like and don't like in your box to ensure you're getting what your family likes to eat plus they introduce you to some new vegetables that are hard to buy in a store. We really appreciated the newsletter with recipes.

The family farm days is a major plus, which was the main reason we chose Dunlooken in the first place. We appreciated being able to introduce our toddler to farm life and all of their animals.

We highly recommend Dunlooken Farm CSA! We can't wait for 2011 season to begin!

We have had a great experience with Dunlooken Farm! It takes no convincing to get our kids to try new vegetables when we tell them it comes from the farm. They love seeing the variety and different colors and I love getting the fresh, hand-picked produce.

We especially love the communication each week about what is going on at the farm and the option to visit each month where my city kids get to see the gardens, barns and many kinds of animals.

We've been very happy and are looking forward to our third year with Dunlooken Farm.

Dunlooken Farms exceeded my exceptations on delivering top quality vegetables. It was a treat for myself and family to see what our weekly vegetables would be. We were always delighted. I have teenages who can be picky vegetables eaters, Dunlooken Farms provided me with the opportunity to select the types of vegetable my family like and accomodated with more of that type of vegetable. I so enjoyed the surprise extra's that they provided, wether it be a bouquet of flowers, flowers bulbs or pumkins. Dunlooken has provided opportunities to visit their farm on special open house weekends. I also very much appreciated the newletter with weekely recipes. I have tried other CSA's and have found Dunlooken Farms to be exceptional in quality and value.
